Thanks for joining us at the Future Council screenings and what you can do

Thanks to our Ethinvest clients and friends who joined us for recent screenings of The Future Council in Sydney and Melbourne! It was great to see you in person. Following up, you can support Future Councils of young people around the world here or consider supporting the Australian Youth Climate Council’s (AYCC) efforts to expand their team and work in the country’s biggest mining state, Western Australia.

The AYCC equips young people, aged 13-30, with the skills and experience to be leaders for climate justice. Western Australia is home to AYCC's largest and most active volunteer branch, where young people are leading on AYCC's national response to Woodside’s North West Shelf gas expansion approval and adding grassroots power to campaigns stopping local WA gas projects. Stopping gas expansion in the west is critical because most gas produced in WA is exported overseas. In fact, if WA was a country, it would be the world's third largest exporter of LNG in the world.

AYCC is looking for support to expand training for WA campaigners and volunteers to grow a strong movement standing up to the gas industry and federal and state politicians allowing gas companies to continue to expand. This training will include one-on-one mentoring in Fremantle, workshops for high school student weekends and training events in Geraldton and other WA towns at the crossroads between clean energy and polluting gas.

For more information, contact James Atkinson, AYCC Engagement Lead, via james@aycc.org.au or donate online via AYCC’s website at www.aycc.org.au/donate.
