Response to US climate bill: NGOs, unions and Climate Capital Forum call on gov't to invest $100bn

A collective of more than 25 NGOs, unions, investors and the Ethinvest-founded Climate Capital Forum went to Canberra in September to call on the federal government to supercharge investment in Australia's renewable energy, rare earth minerals and decarbonisng sectors.

The push, including a new paper by Climate Energy Finance's Tim Buckley and Ethinvest's Blair Palese, looks at how an investment of $100 billion over ten years could help build Australia's place in the global decarbonisng economy and keep our emerging climate tech companies on home soil. The team spent three days talking to government officials about the need for leadership now to ensure Australians benefit from our considerable resources and abundant renewable energy to re-industrialise the economy and spur jobs in regions across the country.
